Chasqui Flavors Bringing Award-Winning Bolivian Eats to Tampa
Opening very soon, the new Tampa eatery will serve award-winning Bolivian street food in a unique location.

Chasqui Flavors is preparing to open very soon in Tampa, bringing authentic Bolivian street food to the area. Owners Cimar and Gimena Argote confirmed to Business Debut that the new brick-and-mortar location will open inside a former taco shop at 6501 W Hillsborough Ave, Tampa, FL 33634, located within a Marathon gas station.
After running a chain of pizzerias in Boston, the Argote family moved to Florida and launched the food truck Salteñas Chasqui, named for their signature dish—Bolivian-style empanadas filled with stewed meats. Their salteñas quickly earned acclaim, winning first place at both the Tampa and Orlando Empanada Festivals for best non-traditional empanada. The brand now ships frozen salteñas across the country to customers.
The new restaurant will also serve other Bolivian favorites such as Tucumanas (fried Bolivian empanadas), Silpancho (breaded steak with rice, eggs, potatoes, and vegetables), and Salchipapa cones.
The name Chasqui Flavors draws inspiration from the messengers of the Incan empire—chasquis—who delivered news across cities. Cimar Argote sees himself as a modern-day chasqui, delivering unique Bolivian cuisine to new audiences. The family also plans to add a philanthropic component to benefit local families and children.
The opening is just around the corner. Follow them on Instagram and Facebook for updates and the official grand opening announcement.
