Fresh Greek and Mediterranean Cuisine Coming to Gainesville This Summer
Greek Tavern is getting ready to serve Greek and Mediterranean dishes with dine-in and drive-through options.

Greek Tavern is preparing to open in Gainesville, offering Greek and Mediterranean dining for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Co-owner John Vachtsevanos shared with Business Debut that the team is aiming for a late May or early June opening at 337 Jesse Jewell Pkwy, Gainesville, GA 30501.
Vachtsevanos, a local orthopedic surgeon, and his wife Cheri, an internist, partnered with George Giannoulas, a Greek native, to bring the concept to life. They combined two lots, tore down the old buildings, and built the 6,500-square-foot restaurant from the ground up. The space includes a main dining room, a glassed-in porch with air conditioning, a screened-in porch with fans and heaters, and a drive-through.
An open kitchen visible from the dining room will feature a Greek and Mediterranean menu complete with brick oven-fired pizzas. Additionally, a coffee and dessert bar will be available. Guests can expect fresh, made-to-order meals served in a welcoming atmosphere with over 100 seats available between indoor and outdoor spaces.
Greek Tavern will offer dine-in, takeout, drive-through, delivery, and catering services. Once open, hours will be 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., seven days a week.
