A new cocktail garden themed concept is heading to Savannah’s Starland District. Garden Square is preparing to open at 2400 Bull Street, Savannah, GA 31401, with construction set to begin in early May, owner Jake Grier told Business Debut in a phone interview.

The upcoming restaurant and cocktail bar will feature a lush, plant-filled outdoor patio of more than 3,000 square feet, complemented by a similarly sized indoor space—bringing the total footprint to around 6,000 square feet. The patio will seat 50 to 60 guests, with an equal number of seats planned indoors. Inside, a sprawling mural from artist Kipper Millsap will help bring the garden-inspired atmosphere indoors.

Grier shared that he’s already gathering planters and pots to create the immersive garden atmosphere. The goal is to make guests feel like they’re attending a garden cocktail party.

The food menu will focus on lighter, elevated fare including appetizers, sandwiches, salads, and desserts initially. Chef Matt Wallace, known for his work at Black Sheep in Beaufort, SC, is a partner and will lead menu development. Restaurateur David Winer of EatWellDC is also a partner in the project.

Located next to Brochu’s Family Tradition, Garden Square aims to be a complementary addition to the neighborhood. Planned hours are Tuesday through Sunday from 4 p.m. to midnight, with brunch service on Saturdays and Sundays.

Garden Square is hoping to open this fall. Follow them on Instagram.
