Jimmy’s Tacos Expanding to St. Petersburg with New Location
Authentic Mexican flavors, a full bar, and an upgraded menu are coming to St. Petersburg with the arrival of Jimmy’s Tacos.
Jimmy’s Tacos is gearing up for a significant expansion with a new location in St. Petersburg, owner Jimmy Nunez shared with Business Debut. The goal is to open the new location in August 2025 if all goes well, Nunez said.
The popular taco spot, known for its authentic Mexican cuisine in Ybor City, will take over the space currently occupied by The Foundry at 2536 Central Ave, St. Petersburg, FL 33712. St. Pete Rising reports that The Foundry will remain in the building until the end of May.

The St. Petersburg location will bring exciting changes, including a full liquor license and seating for over 120 guests, with 55+ seats indoors and additional outdoor seating. The expanded kitchen will feature a vertical broiler, allowing the team to offer Mexico City-style el trompo tacos, along with a much broader menu than what is currently available in Ybor City.
Jimmy’s Tacos has been a staple in Ybor City for five to six years, and Nunez confirmed that the original location will remain open even after the St. Petersburg debut.
