New Orleans Whiskey Bar Barrel Proof Expanding to Atlanta
Barrel Proof, a New Orleans whiskey bar with 350+ bottles, is opening in West Midtown this September.

Barrel Proof is expanding to West Midtown, bringing its whiskey bar concept from New Orleans to Atlanta in the former location of Little Trouble. Robert LeBlanc, CEO of LeBlanc + Smith, shared details about the brand’s entry into the Atlanta market with Business Debut. The news was first reported by ToNeTo Atlanta last week.
The concept is centered around cocktails, with a strong emphasis on whiskey, featuring at least 350 different bottles in their New Orleans location. The bar also serves food designed to pair well with its cocktail and spirits selection. LeBlanc noted, "We plan to over-deliver on the food that you’d expect to get at a bar."
For the West Midtown location, LeBlanc plans to preserve the space’s existing brick and steel aesthetic while incorporating modern art and design elements. He has partnered with Atlanta-based architect David Heimbuch, who recently worked on Painted Pickle in Buckhead.

The goal is to open the approximately 80-90 seat restaurant and bar in September. However, LeBlanc acknowledged that if they meet this timeline, it will be the first of 14 concepts to launch on its initially proposed schedule.
Located at 1170 Howell Mill Rd NW Suite P-10C, Atlanta, GA 30318, Barrel Proof aims to create a warm and approachable venue for socializing and building community among guests and staff. LeBlanc emphasized that as they enter the Atlanta market, they intend to honor the city’s local culture in their atmosphere, music, and menu.
